FLY OVER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN KRIAN, SIDOARJO: A SOLUTION TO OVERCOME TRAFFIC JAM

The fly-over construction project in Krian district, Sidoarjo, has begun. This project aims to relieve traffic jams that are quite severe every day at the Krian intersection. The planning, the fly-over will be built along 700 meters. The budget allocation for this project development reaches 167 billion rupiahs, and using a multi-year scheme. The Sidoarjo Regent confirmed that the project is a collaboration between the central government and the Sidoarjo district government to relieve congestion at the Krian area crossing.

In acquiring land for this project, the Sidoarjo district government spent a budget of around 7.5 billion rupiahs. This budget is for compensation for land affected by the project. The owner of the building that affected by the project has been given about two weeks after the award of compensation for independent demolition. After the deadline, The Sidoarjo Regency Government leveled the buildings that were still standing. Previously, there were still several buildings standing, even though they were no longer intact because the doors, windows, or roof tiles had been brought by the owner.

The Sidoarjo Regency Government brought three heavy equipment to the location to carry out the demolition. The disassembly process went smoothly. The ruins of the building are only walls and the rest of the wood that has not been used. There are 100 joint officers who participated. Starting from the army, police, related services, until the civil service police unit. In about two hours, the entire building was leveled and finished.

The Sidoarjo Regent, Gus Muhdlor, expressed his gratitude to the residents around the Krian fly-over project who contributed to the success of the construction of the level crossing fly-over. With this support, the land acquisition process will run smoothly and safely.

“This fly-over breaks up congestion in Krian, a level crossing road. Residents around the project, especially those whose land is affected, gladly accept it. And thank God, the construction is progressing according to the timeline,” he continued.

Head of the Fly-over Development Acceleration Team, Bachruni Aryawan, stated that the construction was on schedule. He explained that currently workers are preparing the location of the pile installation for the fly-over. For this reason, some streets next to the construction area was partially closed. He asked the motor riders to be careful when crossing the road next to the construction area because there are many heavy equipment that might be dangerous for the safety of the motor riders. He said, the road will be completely closed for a certain period of time.

Therefore, there will be a diversion of traffic flow from the direction of Krian to Wonoayu and vice versa. This of course also causes traffic jams at some points which become temporary transition flows in the morning and the evening.
Currently, workers are preparing land and area for the installation of piles. After the pile installation is complete, proceed to the road frame. After that, the casting of the road body. It is planned that by the end of December 2023 this project will be completed.
